 Geforce 5200 FX shuts down my monitor		  New Topic  Reply to Topic

When I try to play games like Jedi Outcast or Halflife my monitor shuts down. I am puzzeled because Madden 2003 works. I have Direct X 9.0 and the latest driver. When I run the DirectX tests on the diagnostics it shuts my monitor down too. I can hear the games, but cannot see them. I have:

PIII 1.2
350w power

Any help?

We need to know a little more than that... likkeeeee

OS? (WinXP, 98, etc)
ammount of RAM?
Motherboard type?

Check to see if your monitor supports the resolutions you are trying to run the game at...

Also, check the other thread... same problem as yours

The resolution for the games that turn off your monitor are to high. Make it 800x600, or something smaller.. Trial and error.

See if that solves anything..

I've had the same problem with my new GeforceFX 5200,

Make sure your graphics card is FIRMLY in place.
(this was the problem with mine).

come back if this doesnt resolve the problem.

power 350
WIN98SE
512 Ram
DFI cs62-tc MB

The card is in place. Most resolutions turn off my monitor. 800X600 works as well as 1024X768. Games still wont work. The MB is new. The card worked with the old MB just fine. I called BFG and they said that the MB is not on their conflict list for the video card. My monitor is a Cybermax. Since they went out of business I dont have any support.
