The July issue of the Official Xbox Magazine with a cover story on Ghost Recon 2 has hit the newsstands. The feature article is 7 pages long and is chock-full of screenshots and great-looking concept art.

If you've been following the GR2 news here, you won't find a whole lot of new info in the article. However, there are some interesting new bits of info like:
  • With the larger emphasis on the characters in GR2, Red Storm actually has a small team dedicated just to developing the look, history, and personality of each specialist under your command.
  • RSE enlisted two Special Forces soldiers from nearby Fort Bragg to help with motion capture on 300-400 actions in the game.
  • Enemies will also use hand signals, so you can predict the movement of enemy units by observing their hand signals from afar.
  • There are two sound engineers working on GR2, as opposed to one for the previous GR games.
  • There will be 15-20 single player missions in the game. (It appears the final total number of missions had not been decided at the time of writing the OXM article.)
  • After GR2 comes out, there will definitely be new downloadable multiplayer maps, and possibly new single player missions!

OXM says that their August issue's game disc will have video footage of their visit to Red Storm. They also mention they will be the first to have a playable demo of GR2 in the upcoming months!
