The game designers did a good thing by creating unlockable specialists in Ghost Recon with different personalities and backgrounds. This helps to give the game a more personal touch instead of only dealing with "generic" soldiers, and also hopefully gives more impetus to the player to keep their whole squad alive.
The specialists "dossiers" are a treat to read, but unfortunately cannot be found in the GR CD or manual. The only place to read their bios was at the official GR website, but since GR.com was redesigned, the specialists webpage is gone. (We have been told it will eventually come back.) Fortunately for those of you still discovering GR on the PC or Xbox, you can still find the old specialists bios page www.ghostrecon.com/specialist.php+&hl=en&ie=UTF-8">here (thanks to Google's huge cache of every webpage), albeit sans pictures.

| There is only another specialist in the world of GR and her name is Jodiet Haile, my favourite one, of DS since IT didn't introduce any new specialist. Why didn't they put her biography? |

Yeah, I was disappointed that they didn't write a bio for Jodit Haile too. I don't know if it was just overlooked, or they didn't have the resources to write it (i.e. references about what it's like to grow up in Eritrea and join the military there, etc.).
It was also unfortunate they didn't introduce a new specialist in IT, but I think it's because they had six "left-over" Ghosts that didn't appear in DS. At least they took the time to make new 3D character models for modders to use. |
