Today is November 11th, which is celebrated as Veterans Day in the U.S. and Remembrance Day in countries of the British Commonwealth. With the ongoing war aganist terrorism, and the recent U.N. resolution calling for Iraq to disarm, it is more important than ever that we do not take our armed forces for granted. Let's take a moment today to remember those who have sacrificed their lives for us, and those who now bear arms to fight for our freedom.

| By the sounds of it, Veterans Day is in remembrance of WWI. So how come we don't have a day for WWII? That war was much larger and more widely remembered but should be equally remembered. |

I think it is generally accepted that Veterans/Remembrance Day has now come to symbolize remembering and honoring the veterans from all wars. Where I am, ceremonies included vets from WWI, WWII, Korea, the Gulf War, and even returning soldiers from Afghanistan. |
