It's hard to believe that Raven Shield was originally scheduled to be released this month for the PC and Xbox! Although many were disappointed with the delay, we should give a big thanks to the team at Ubi Soft Montreal for working hard to get the demo out to us next week!
To be honest, I think Ubi Soft did the right thing to delay R6:3's release (and profits) to properly fine tune the game. Also, it now doesn't have to compete with other huge titles coming out before Christmas. I think a solid product will sell well no matter what time of year.
I just wanted to take some time this weekend to post some recent new info that has been published about Raven Shield. Here is a summary of the info found in the November 2002 issue of Computer Games magazine we posted about earlier.
There are 50 people working on the R6:3. Tom Clancy has "absolute veto power" over anything Ubi Soft does with his name on it. Planning stage has full 3D map views Levels include: Abandoned Prison, Oil Refinery, Warehouse Locations include Brazil, Republic of Georgia 57 weapons with attachments that make up to at least 150 weapons combos Attachments include suppressors, scopes, shoulder stocks, super-sized magazines. 6 exclusive multiplayer maps 15 single player missions over 12 different maps
From the recent demo announcement, here are Raven Shield's system requirements:
