Well, I rented some movies tonight on DVD. I got tired of watching the ones I have over and over and just needed a break from them. I rented 3 myself, and I let my sister rent 3 too. I rented Ice Age, Bad Company, and Insomnia. I've already watched all 3 too. They were all pretty good, though Insomnia was my favorite of them. It was very well written. Bad Company was good, but it seemed to have too many false climaxes to me. Just kept going and going. Chris Rock's comedy makes up for it though. Ice Age was pretty good for being generally considered a children's movie. It has quite a few funny jokes through it. Definatly one to rent even if you dont have kids.
My sister rented some lame movies. of course it's because she's younger and a girl. She rented Crocidile Hunter, Double Take, and Austin Powers Goldmemer. Goldmember was okay, but I'm not really interested in the other two.
With all the movies we rented, we got a free rental, which I decided to use next Tuesday to rent Sign's. I just missed it in theatres and I've heard mixed opinions so I'm going to see it for myself. Also, this wednesday, tomorrow, I'm going to go see The Two Towers. I'm not die-hard about the trilogy like my sister, who's a freak about the Tolkien books and the movies, but I admit they are still good.
While I'm on the topic of movies. I stopped at 23 pages total finished when I stopped writing tonight. I had a bout with writer's block, but finally managed to push through it. Just an FYI. That leaves me only 97 pages to go, or in that ammount. The deadline for the first contest is fast approaching. I found another contest the deadline of which is January 31, so my fingers have been flying over the keyboard lately. I only hope I can finish and do a couple edits in time. and the entry fee is $50!! Ouch. |
