I have no idea SMAK, it puzzles me too, I have looked at the scripts from the retail maps, and dont see anything to answer my predicament. ALTHOUGH, I did see a script entry that can spawn the opposing force onto a certain platoon or team, maybe that will stop the infighting if the new opposing force is spawned onto the existing teams or platoons once they have spawned,,,,my head hurts hehe I am also having a problem getting the actors to be very aggressive like they are in the battlefield map...

Ok, now I'm really confused and really need help. I am using the "Battlefield" map as the basis of my map. When the mission starts up I see gunfire like crazy from certain parts of my map. When I click to view my map I see dead bodies across teh whole screen. At first I thought the computer enemies were killing eachother but as I was moving across the battlefield I noticed enemy soliders in unis that I didnt pick (having put the whole enemy force in one skin). Then as I played it more to see what was going on there are soilders in the mission that I didnt put there and for some reason when the mission starts these dudes open up a serious firefight with the enemies I created.
Its weird stuff. I havent created any allied units so there is no probs there.
ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE HELP.

are you importing a firefight .gtf ? (game type file) if so it is loading 30 enemies onto a battlefield you have put guys on, and they are killing each other, if you edit the startup script to make the amount of enemies spawned to zero, they will not kill each other.
AHA!!! I have found out how to make them as aggressive as the real game maps. 1st obviously create a platoon, and then the team. 2nd place actors around area that you choose 3rd create a plan for the team, 4th under the created plan, select and place these plans combat ROE, Alertness, Movement, formation, pace, weapon select and stance and if u have men with grenade launchers, choose grenades too. finally, under these plans, if any give option to lock or unlock, choose unlock, gives them freedom to "freelance" if set to lock , that is all they will do and will be boring... set grenades to available, and under combat roe, I usually choose surpress, gives more gunfire and sounds and feels better that way, i tired combat nad it was close but,,,i dont know personal preference i guess.. and dont forget to add to the start up script to give actors unlimited ammo... :) I have found with this setup plan for actors is pretty close if not the way they do it in the game.... happy hunting!!

see previous reply, as it has changed,,, and YES whatever gtf you choose, remove the number of spawned enemies will give you the "parameters" for that type game and you can control the enemies placement...

Figured out how to change environments with my maps. See my previous topic 'IGOR Environment Editor'. You have to completly replace the ENV file. I should have figured that out days ago :). Now I have a new problem. I have tried creating a mod to contain my map, basically a rehash of the POW Camp mission except with rain and fog, and my map won't show up in multiplayer, and I have made sure that my mod was activated first. Next I tried creating a whole seperate folder, just copied the POW folders and renamed them in the hopes of having one POW camp map without rain and one with rain. Made sure that ENV were setup for each map. Tried the map in multiplayer and one would override the other. Any ideas?

My question is about the actors i create killing each other (think you guys answered that one) and how do i change the number of spawned actors to a lesser or greater number?
changing this number does what? if i create 24 actors in my own companies, will the game accept them and make "room" for them? or is this 30 member/actor a total allowable (mine and those already in the mission scripting/language?
if i change this number in the scripting to zero what will that do?
what i have tried to do is edit the script, the window comes up, and i click summary , which appears in notepad... **can i edit script from there?****
also are all the mission *.gtf scripts that i can import going to have the 30 spawn members line in it?
thanks

Superbee, I think 30 is the default no of tangos in the map scripts. Once you import your script go to Script, Edit and from there click on the line that has "30" for the enemy and edit it to 0 OR just delete. Otherswise, like I found out the computer tangos will fight with yours...and this really sux.

also, when making enemies on the battlefield, make them ALL from SAME company or same thing will happen.
superbee, no the 30 is not a "limit" on enemies in mission, just how many the script creates, u can add as many as you like, but if you import AND place men yourself, infighting happens I have found that if you import a firefight script, then delete the string which is the start up string, and then add as many guys as you like it works better, you still have the parameters for a firefight, and can place the guys as you see fit...just remember, place them all in same company, u can have diff platoons, and teams but all must come from same company or infighting will ensue..

Yup, what I did was label their company as "Enemy" and then copied what I read in the tutorial...Alpha, Bravo, Charlie Platoons and the teams were named Alaph1, Alpha2, Bravo1, etc. and peeps were numbered as Alpha1_1 and so on. Very nice way of organizing your tangos.
