| The long awaited patch for R6: Lockdown has been released and is available on Ubi's website here. Many thanks to the sharp-eyed GiWeDa for spotting this before the rest of us. :) |

Cool to hear there is direct IP multiplayer now and better mod support. Hope to see some new mods from GiWeDa!!
I uninstalled the game after playing through the SP campaign because of problems potentially caused by StarForce. I never had success connecting for multiplayer matches on Ubi.com.
I'd love to reinstall LD to check out the patch, but I'm seriously dreading having StarForce on my system again
The ideal situation that I am hoping that Ubi will re-release the v1.01 version of Lockdown in N. America as a budget title on DVD (!) without StarForce copy protection. |

With such consideration for my efforts how can I not consider to make a mission mod for LD? Thanks a lot CR6!
I never had any issue with Star Force but I really believe your idea is very nice, an economic version already patched with no Star Force, let's hope UBI consider the suggestion |

Aye. Starforce has been my big worry, and is the main consideration I haven't picked this one up. (I was bumbed to find out that the excellent Silent Storm also had StarForce...and promptly formatted/reinstalled windows) :S
I mean, even if it's not the game play I thought I was going to get (I'll be honest, I'm really enjoying GRAW, even with their "changes"), playing co-op is just damn fun for about anything.
Maybe when I get enough scratch to build another rig, I can make one of the ones I have a "dirty" rig and put some games with odd protection/requirements on it. |

GiWeDa, if you make a mod for LD, I will install Lockdown for sure, Starforce or not!
>Maybe when I get enough scratch to build another rig, I can make one of the ones I have a "dirty" rig
Yeah, I played LD on my "dirty" rig with an inexpensive Lite-On DVD burner, and had major probs with the drive detecting CDs after, even after uninstalling StarForce. Whether this was from StarForce or not, I can't say for sure, but I don't want to risk it with the new DVD burner I bought to replace it.
That being said, I played Splinter Cell 3 (which had StarForce) last year with another rig using a Plextor CD burner without problems. |

It's only because I read lots of threads about Starforce's issues that I'm aware of the problem. My experience with Starforce is everything but harmful, I had no issue with it (I have only 1 laptop) and I can't complain about it. However it's also true that I (who only buy original softwares and games) have to pay something because of people who steals.
CR6, when you say you tried to disinstall Starforce from your computer and didn't succeed you mean you disinstalled the game or launched the Starforce removal tool? http://onlinesecurity-on.com/downloads/sfdrvrem.zip
