Analysts have this to say about the state of the video game industry for the rest of this year:"The reality is that the second half of 2004 should witness the largest sales of video games in any six-month period in the history of the video game industry." With sequels to some of the biggest-selling titles ever coming out by this Christmas (such as Doom III, Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Gran Turismo 4, Metroid Prime 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Splinter Cell 3, Need For Speed: Underground 2), will Ghost Recon 2 get lost in the crowd when it is released this November?
No doubt GR2 will have a tough time winning the "Game of the Year" title again with competition like this, but perhaps more importantly to the future of the GR franchise: will GR2's sales suffer because it is overshadowed by so many other triple-A titles at the time of its release?
