1UP.com has posted a great Q&A with Ubisoft's Xavier Fouilleux, the U.S. Brand Manager for Pandora Tomorrow, which clears up some confusion about Splinter Cell 2 vs. Pandora Tomorrow.
One of the reasons for the confusion is that the Official Xbox Magazine reported that Pandora Tomorrow was considered to be more of a stand-alone expansion pack rather than the "true" sequel to Splinter Cell. I think this idea came about because Ubi Shanghai is using a modified SC1 engine for SC:PT, while the next Splinter Cell game engine that Ubi Montreal is currently working on will be a substantial upgrade.
In any case, here are some highlights from the 1UP article:Ubi considers SC:PT to be the sequel of the original Splinter Cell and should be considered as SC2.A PC demo hopefully will be available prior to release. The PS2 and GameCube versions of SC:PT may again include exclusive features not found in the Xbox/PC. The exclusive content provided for the original PS2/GC Splinter Cell was tremendously successful as a marketing strategy. |
