With respect to the GR franchise, 2003 really was the year for GR to shine on the Xbox, with two top-selling releases and taking the #1 spot on Xbox Live.

However, the aging PC version has been kept alive by a vibrant community through challenging clan competitions and ground-breaking, high-quality mods. There is no doubt the decision to include modding tools with GR has extended its shelf-life and kept fan interest high ... we still get twice as much traffic here at GR-R than our Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell sites combined, despite those two franchises having more recent releases.

As 2004 is dawning, we here at Ghost Recon Retreat want to take this opportunity to thank all our readers for your support over the past year!

The advantage of PC comparing to the other platforms is the possibility to including modding tools to extend the life of a game. And I'm afraid that this is the reason the games producers tends to shift to consoles: if a game can be extented in such a way by the modding community the possibility to sell other games is reduced. This is particularly clear for me who, having bought GR more than 2 years ago, I didn't buy any other game (apart RvS always from UBisoft that I never played anyway) since busy to playand mod!

Happy 2004! Let 2004 be fruitful of GR mods
