Just installed Splinter Cell PC tonight and it needed 3 CDs for the full 1.5 GB installation! The game fit on one DVD for the Xbox, but for the PC, I think they really should have a choice between a CD and DVD format for this game.
Anyways, Firing Squad made a mention of one PC game coming soon that will only be in DVD format only: it's the PC port of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. With DVD-ROMs and DVD burners coming down in price, and the emergence of DVD audio, are we seeing the beginning of the end for CDs? |
