This one really slipped in under the radar. The newest Rainbow Six game is not Raven shield ... it's a PlayStation One game called "Rainbow Six: Lone Wolf"! (I didn't know anyone was still making games just for the PS One.) We did mention this game a long time ago when Amazon originally said it was to be released in summer 2002. It actually came out around September of this year, but I haven't seen Ubi Soft actively promoting it. I can't even find a listing for this game on Ubi.com's site!
The game was developed by Rebellion in the UK. (Rebellion also ported the original R6 to the PlayStation.) The gameplay seems to be based on the Lone Wolf single player mode in the R6 series. There's only 5 missions in the whole game, and a quick Google search around the web hasn't brought up many rave reviews ;-P
The storyline of this game is as follows: The year is 2001 and Rainbow gets a tip that American weapons are being smuggled into Russia by terrorists through Norway. John Clark picks Ding Chavez to be the lone operative to take care of this threat. The story's timeline for this PS One game isn't consistent with the PC games, since in 2001, Ding is supposed to be with the rest of the team participating in the events of Rogue Spear.
