Thanks to AGR-S for pointing out that America's National Public Radio (NPR) broadcasted a short piece on computer games affected by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. Part of it is an interview with Ubi Soft's spokeswoman, Cassie Vogel which gives us the best indication so far of exactly what is going to be changed in Black Thorn. The report states that missions involving airplane imagery will be removed. (We have a news post here that has a link to a video preview of the BT beta that shows an airplane hostage scenario based on the 1994 Marseilles hijacking.) The reason behind this is explaned by Cassie Vogel: "We are going to take a serious look at the content in the game and remove what we consider painful reminders for those affected by this." She stresses that, "As a company, we firmly stand behind the ideals of the game and will continue to make games that have a strong moral component and continue the fight against terrorism."
