Old-school R6 fans have been grumbling with good reason the past few years about the direction Ubisoft has taken the Rainbow Six series that strays so far from its original gameplay. Well, this recent blog post at Wired confirms that it is indeed a very conscious business decision. The article quotes Ubisoft Game Designer Philippe Therien:"I doubt we will ever go back to really hardcore only shooters. The market was too narrow for it to be a viable business choice.
