The April 2006 issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly (with Rainbow Six: Vegas on the cover) has just hit newsstands with a good preview of Splinter Cell 4. Here are some highlights from the preview:
EGM emphasizes that SC:DA "ditches the dark" since Sam Fisher does not have his trademark headgear for a significant portion of the game. The article says that there was a lot of great texture art in Chaos Theory, but most gamers couldn't see it because the game was so dark! In SC:DA, you will be able to appreciate more brightly lit gorgeous environments.Settings include swimming in the freezing waters of Iceland, infiltrating a cruise ship in Cozumel, Mexico, witnessing a civil war under the harsh daylight of the African sun in Kinshasa, Congo. The article summarizes the game nicely saying: "The greatest tension is the notion of choice." There are multiple endings to the game, main characters will die depending on your decisions, and certain missions become playable depending on what path you chose.
Make sure you pick up EGM issue #202 for more information about Double Agent! |
