I would like to have a Humvee explode as if bombed from the air. No democharges, handgranades, or antitank missiles...just explode once I get in a proximity area. Could someone help me with how to make this effect?...sound, debris and visiual damage.
Thank you

In Igor:

1. Create a zone for proximity-trigger.
2. Create effects for explosion, debris and damage.

In Igor Script-Editor:

1. Create proximity-trigger
2. Add responses:

EffectActivate "GENERAL_TYPE14(X)(Y)" (X=Delay, Y=Duration)
EffectActivate "DEBRIS_TYPE1"
EffectActivate "DAMAGE(X)(Y)" (X=Range (0=3m 1=6m 2=12m),Y=Delay)

Now when a player gets near the zone the effects will go off.

It will not destroy the humvee I think, because the damage is for actors only (could be wrong). Just add a DestroyVehicle response in the block after the EffectActivate's.

More detail : after explosion the humvee is on fire, and after a while the fire goes out and only a smoke comes out which will end also after a while.

If it didn't work, maybe you're a newbie at scripting (everybody was once !):

Did you create a playersplatoon tag ? Goto tags, select PlatoonRef, give it a name (ie Ghosts), press Add. Create new block (Startup), responses: VariableSetPlaoon: Ghosts + GetPlayersPlatoon.

Still not working ? Check original mission (Aurora-map from DS). Goto GhostRecon.net forums and get the effect-list(list with all effects like fire/explosion/smoke/water-splash etc.)

LOL, you have no idea how newbie I am at scripting. I have been working on this mess I have started for nearly 3 weeks and I feel almost as lost now as I did when I first started. However, thank you very much for the reply. I will work on all of that. I was able to finally get a napalm effect by basically coping what was done in GR mission M08 Battlefield in my mission map. The only thing I need now is to be able get the hummer to burn like you stated and smolder.
I'm going now to check out that effects list. Again, thank you and if you can think of any thing else for advise, like......"dont start trying to do something that is so far over your head you'll feel like a totally idiot by the end of the day" kinda thing, please feel free...

K, this is what I got so far. I have my teams set, proximity trigger works fine. I only have the original Ghost Recon (no add-on packs as of yet, and no patches because I dont play online with it...dialup doh). I'm using the embasy map and my proximity trigger is set at the top of the stairs that lead to the original maps extraction point. I have a tank now instead of a hummer in the street below. I was able to get the napalm effect to work and it destroys the tank. This is my problem, I put the effects that you discribed on the map, placed a tank on the same spot, set a proximity trigger...but, whenever I hit that trigger, the game crashes to desktop. Reckon what causes this and what should I do to fix it?

Is it the proximity-trigger that causes the CTD ? Check that by deleting the last edit and see if it works. If not delete another edit, until it works again.

It's a trial and error thing !

I think it was the actual placement of the effects and vehical. I moved the tank over just a little and it seems to work better, it looks a little weird if you pay real close attention because the debris is like (in-game) a foot to the side of the vehical but the vehical dies all the same. Thank you very much for the advice and response. I have plenty of more questions but they may have already been answered here somewhere. I'm gonna do a little searching before I start loading the board down..... :)
