Tenebrous Storm - Translated "Dark" Storm...A mission mod by Mot73
This is a single player and multiplayer mission mod based on the airbase map found in the original Ghost Recon release.
Single player features a Blackhawk cinematic insertion and extraction…should you be successful!
Both single and multiplayer versions include a newly developed feature in which you as a living ghost in the field can obtain the demo kit from a fallen demo man if you find your squad without the needed charges to complete your mission. No longer do missions have to abruptly end because you’re last remaining ghost carrying a crucial piece of equipment dies. Special thanks to Jack57 whom I met over at GR.net for creating this feature.
Below is an excerpt from the actual mission briefing.
“The Year is 2008, the date is September 24, the location is an airbase in Arkhangel'sk, Russia.
Russia has been in turmoil for years on end. There appears to be no end in sight for the ruling communist party. Many have tried to overthrow them; all have failed....at least until now. The United States intelligence community has secretly been in contact with a small but promising faction within the Russian borders. They are the self-proclaimed Free Democratic Government or FDG. We have at times provided them support in the form of financial backing and a handful of undercover operatives. Our current involvement around the world just doesn't allow us anything additional, not to mention the upheaval that would occur in the United Nations if we were to have an official military presence inside Russia.
Our involvement with the FDG is NOT without payoff however. This is where you come in... We have learned that the Russians are finalizing testing on a prototype fighter jet equipped with advanced weapons delivery systems AND stealth technology comparable to our Lockheed F117A Stealth Fighter. The good news is that the exorbitant price to develop this technology has only allowed them to produce one unit to date.{p}Your mission is to infiltrate this airbase via Blackhawk, destroy this aircraft and retrieve their intelligence database before you erase it. First you will need to disable the security system on base and then secure the Radar Tower which will ensure your ride home makes it in undetected.”
