Well
I found a good custom map that would be fun to use in GR, and I don't have the right software to port the level. can someone help me?

Yo O, there is no software to simply "port" maps from the Half-Life engine to GR. The HL maps you've seen played on GR have been painstakingly recreated from scratch in 3D Studio Max likely taking 100's of hours by mod makers.

Look for Aztec by Low Profile. That is one of them and one of the first maps for Ghost Recon.
