I've finally completed the lighting for the entire map, so I've taken some time and updated my aztec preview gallery with more pics. The preview section for my gr aztec map now consists of 40 screenshots walking you through the entire map from different angles. Things are going much better than I hoped for. I anticipate releasing the map possibly by the end of next week.
congrats on your map port... It really does look good. As an avid CS player for many a year It is a welcome site. I have a question for you...
Have you thought about adding any vegitation to the map. The mood of the map in CS was very much a Aztec Ruin that may/may not have been overrun by the jungle. GR has a much better engine for creating trees, bushes, and vines... there is a LOT of potential there.
Have you thought about adding this map as PART of a bigger map... example scenario - trampin thru a jungle and come across an aztec ruin controlled by bad guys...

I have thought about many of the things you all have mentioned. There are many more possiblities with the Ghost Recon engine, but for now I'm just sticking to the basics. You have to have a firm foundation to build upon before you start getting carried away. Whether there will ever be an enhanced version of aztec in the near future is hard to say. I'm already committed to another project and don't plan on setting it down until it is done. The aztec map would look pretty amazing with overgrowth, vegetation, signs of age, crumbling walls and leaning columns broken in two that have fallen over. A more weathered look for the map would be pretty neat. The idea of the map being part of a larger landscape interests me the most. Especially when concerning mission possibilites. Who knows? Not making any promises, but perhaps by the end of the summer I'll have some time to start looking into what I could do. Would be fun. That's for sure.
