Game I am playing: Ghost Recon 1
Console I'm Using: Playstation 2
Current Task: Recording names of all Playable Soldiers, including Specialists.
Problem: The main site (Or one of the main sites) this Forum is linked to says there are a grand total of 241 playable Soldiers in GR (76 Riflemen, 60 Support, 40 Snipers, 59 Demo, and 6 Specialists). However, after several days of research, I have only found 75 Riflemen, 57 Support, 39 Snipers, and 55 Demo. As for the Specialists, they number Twelve instead of six. As of late, searches have completely dried up and no new names have been found.
Therefore I am asking the following questions.
1. Are the numbers on the GR site these forums are linked to actually proven?
2. Are some of the Specialists funneled into the main categories while others remain distinctive Specialists?
3. Is there anybody anywhere who can point me someplace that already has an actual database on the Characters- not the Specialists, by the way, just the Regulars.

The webpage you are referring to is here (see question #12):

The place I found all the names of the "regular" Ghosts was in this folder in the PC version:
C:\Program Files\Red Storm Entertainment\Ghost Recon\Mods\Origmiss\Actor
One .atr file represents one Ghost.
There are 76 .atr files in the Riflemen folder, 60 .atr files in the Heavy Weapons folder etc.
Open up the ".atr" files in Notepad and you will find out the names of each of the Ghosts.
All the "specialists" in GR1 are listed here:
http://ghostrecon.3dretreat.com/grspecialists.htm
Note some "specialists" are not Ghosts, but from allied armed forces.

Doh, thanks for catching that.
I have no idea how many "regular" Ghosts and specialists appear in the PS2 version. Sorry.
I consider the PC version of GR1 the "definitive" version. |

Assuming you actually have the PC Version of GR, can I ask you for a huge favor?
Specifically, if I provide you a list of names that I have already jotted down, you could go into those .atr files and find the names that I cannot find? Presuming those files list the names in Alphabetical order. Oh, and if you can give the starting atributes for those that I missed, it would be grand.
