| So far, the Xbox 360 hardware and software offerings have appeared to exceed expectations and have turned out to be a solid offering from Microsoft. The problem is, despite how good it may be...how do you get one? I've started to hear of units appearing on store shelves here or there but you still can't decide you want one and just go to a store. Two and a half months after the launch, this still surprises me. I'm curious to hear how many people have one and how many people wish they did but couldn't find one. |

Yo! I have one (duh).
Me? I got mine by pre-ordering at my EBX in mid-October. I didn't get it until the end of January, but stock does come in and pre-orders do get filled. You will here tons of people complaining that "they don't have any" but that's really just the effect of people who are ordering/checking shelves not getting any of their own.
I mean, seriously, how many people do you hear of complaining they got a 360? :)
My suggestion to those who want to buy one: go place your preorder now, and then start searching BestBuy and Target regularly. You may still have to wait six months for your order to get filled, but it's better to start waiting now, instead of waiting another six months after you give up your search.
My other advice? Like love or your missing tie-pin, try not to look for it. A Friend of mine went to Wally World to pick up a television and some dinner, and walked out of there with a television and a 360 (and no dinner). |
