IBM has introduced the SAN File System which is a significant industry first, the availability of the industry's first file storage virtualization capability.
"It’s more of a large enterprise situation, in the data center environment," Barnett said. "It covers industries where they deal with more complex data environment and large amounts of data, like retail and distribution, financial, insurance , research, and life sciences. It does span a number of industries.”
"IBM TotalStorage SAN File System will be available worldwide on November 14, 2003. The price for a starter configuration begins at $90,000."
