Love her or not, there's no doubt that Lara Croft and Tomb Raider were a big part of the 3D revolution in gaming. It's been 3 years since the last TR game, and Lara is finally getting a true engine upgrade when her new game is released this summer. (The five previous TR games sold millions of units between 1996-2000 based on the original engine.) The new series of games based on this engine is purported to span 10 "chapters" over a large story arc. It will be interesting if Core can pull off this strategy of selling 9 more games based on this new engine.
Oh yeah, and the second TR movie is coming out soon with Lara travelling to China amongst other locations. The Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Cradle of Life trailer has just been released here.
Is it going to come out on the Xbox? That trailer looked sweet. I really liked the first movie and all the action in it. It isn't a movie I would watch multiple times but I still enjoyed it. It looks like the second one will be the same way.

So far TR:AoD is coming out only on the PS2 and PC. Eidos made a lot of money making the original TR exclusive to the PlayStation 1, and it looks like they got a special deal with Sony again so far for this next-gen version of TR.
